NYFW came to a close last week after a multitude of innovative & interesting collections. Yet, my favorite part about the fashion month of September is when the fashion weeks in Europe occur. There just seems to be a certain aesthetic that NYFW doesn’t seem to capture for me. There’s a sense of whimsy & uniqueness that I really enjoy.
Luckily for me (and you guys!) London Fashion Week is now in full swing & there are already a lot of collections on my radar. Let’s start with one that rarely seems to disappoint me – Burberry Prorsum. I am loving this Spring 2013 collection cause it’s filled with jewel toned metallics (which were a part of the Men’s 2013 Spring collection), chic silhouettes, and fun accents like capelets and high-waisted briefs.
Check it out!
There are so many variations on the trench here that I am going crazy. I love the cropped one, the blue metallic one, and everything in between! I also really love the full structured sleeves that seem to pop up on many of the looks. It’s fun…and adds a bit of a futuristic feel. A lot of the fabrics in this collection look luxe which makes typical items like shorts & high waisted skirts look really high end. That subtle hint of shimmer is perfect to dress up or down. Finally, while I’m not sure where you’d wear them, those neon plastic capelets are certainly eye catching…like something out of The Fifth Element!
There really is so much to love about this collection…what do you think??
