Today’s collection from NYFW isn’t necessarily the most chic collection that’ll be shown this season. It isn’t even my personal style or design aesthetic. But what I DO love about Kelly Wearstler’s Spring 2013 collection is the killer silhouettes, vibrant color story, and awesome styling.
I think what most caught my eye about this collection was the striped wall in some of the photos. I think that was a genius idea because the possibilities of playing with patterns & textures becomes endless. And the jackets & shoulders in this collection?! Very cool. They add a neat futuristic edge to the collection. Even with all the unique touches, I do think there are trendy options to this collection. The cutouts. The colored denim. (two trends from this past summer)…it all somehow works!
Sometimes, a good collection doesn’t have to be particularly pretty. Sometimes it’s amazing simply because looks different. This for me, is one of those.
