Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone had a good & safe weekend! I’ve got some great things in store for you this week…starting with this lovely illustrator…
I really admire artists that use multiple mediums in their work. I think there’s something to be said for those that can put several different disciplines in one piece of artwork & still have it make sense & look amazing. This is why I’m super excited to share the work of artist, Izziyana Suhaimi. She uses needlepoint, illustration, & painting to create these GORGEOUS fashion illustrations. The embroidery gives them texture & is something that I don’t think is used often enough so her work is really a breath of fresh air. Check this out…
Suhaimi is based in Singapore & has shown her work in several galleries in Japan, Singapore, & Taiwan. She has also been featured in art & design magazines…one of which, Nylon Singapore, is one that I really need to get my hands on! I’m glad I came across Suhaimi’s work… especially since she lives by the following design philosophy: ”Personally, I feel all art-making should come from the heart, backed by a good story – something you need to say that no one else can say it better.”
I completely agree. And this shows in her work. Bravo!
