It’s no secret that I love a good shape. Wait…let me rephrase that…a good GEOMETRIC shape. Prisms, hexagons, trapezoids, you name it, I’m pretty sure they would make for great art. This is why I was super stoked to come across these paintings by artist, Shannon Finley. He uses various techniques to create these awesome shape filled artworks full of color & depth.
Many of these painting were created using acrylic paint & industrial polymers. I’m not fully sure what would qualify as an industrial polymer, but I’m assuming silicon is in there somewhere since a lot of these paintings have a great deal of texture.
I really love abstract art like this. The colors, the style…everything about it! It’d be cool to check out a Finley exhibition. Perhaps I may have a chance to do so since his work has been exhibited everywhere from Berlin to LA to Boston. Great work!
